MY FIRST SOTA ACTIVATION

Historical Marker detailing the site

Today I activated W8O/CT-001– Cambell Hill near Bellefountaine Ohio.  This summit is the highest point in Ohio at 1550 ASL. (Seehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campbell_Hill_(Ohio) for more info on Cambell Hill).

I was able to make QSO’s on 30, 20 and 15 meters. I tried 40 and 17, but was not able to log any QSO’s.

It was a beautiful day with temps in the low 70’s and a light breeze.

I spent about 2 hours on the summit calling CQ and wound up working 16 stations.
